The Portland Film Office is the first point of connection between filmmakers and the city. We help navigate permits and procedures, and connect productions with other city bureaus like Parks or Transportation. Our goal is to make filming in Portland fast and easy for productions big and small.

If you’re planning a film or photo production in Portland, here’s how to get started:

Contact Portland Film Office to determine what city permits you’ll need for your project:

Email production insurance and submit business license registration (if applicable) to Portland Film Office. Please note that two insurance forms are required: a certificate of liability and an Additional Insured Endorsement. Please carefully read the Insurance Information and Guidelines.

Apply to appropriate city bureaus for applicable permits.

Notify neighborhood(s) of your production dates and activities. This must be done at least 72 hours before start of filming. The Portland Film Office provides a notification letter template.
